Sympathy Cards

I used to never like doing Sympathy cards, but now that I have appropriate stamps and sentiments, I like doing my own.
This stamp and sentiment is from Unity Stamps.
This first one is a gelli plate background.  I stamped the stamp on it and on a separate paper.  I colored with colored pencils, fussy cut it and added to the background.  That way you don't have to cut around all the words.

This 2nd one was a black and white challenge that Unity is doing this week.  I stamped it on a piece of paper torn out of a book.  Painted with DecoArt Traditions acrylic paint.  Wasn't sure how the page would hold up with the paint, but I didn't use any water and it did great!  I ran my scissors around the edges to give a vintage look and then glued onto black cardstock.

Colored pencil class with Kit and Clowder

I have taken a coloring class with Kit and Clowder. I have been coloring my whole life-57 years!  But their class taught me the right way to color. They teach you about casting shadows and regular shading.  It has greatly improved my coloring!  I hope you'll check her facebook page out.

The was a freebie offered during their 20 days of giveaways for reaching 20,000 followers. They must be doing something right!

Gelli Plate Backgrounds converted to cards

If you are a follower, you know I adore making my own paper with my gelli plate. I use Americana Acrylic paint by DecoArt. It is the perfect consistency.  I like to experiment adding the glazing medium on the gelli plate after I brayer my colors on.  You then can stamp on the background-which I've done on the first cards background.

DecoArt offers 260 colors!!!  Talk about matching whatever project your working on! Wow!!  I hope you'll check out their website and try some yourself. You can also find their products at local stores like Joann's Fabrics, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels.

Poppies and Vineyard Acrylic Painting

This is one of the largest canvases I've ever painted!! 40x30.  Wow!
It has taken me a couple of months working on it here and there. Layering.
But I LOVE how it turned out.
I used DecoArt new Premium Acrylics.
The pigment in this line of acrylics is amazing! It layers beautifully.

Sparkle and Shine Girls Decor

I have been creating some decor for a young lady's room.
I have used my Deco Art supplies and lots of rhinestones!!

This 12x12 canvas was made using Mandala stencil and Spiced pink Americana Acrylic paint.  I then sealed it with DecoArt Gloss Spray.

This 14x24 canvas was my favorite to do.  I painted it solid Milk Chocolate Brown and allowed to dry. Came back with Spiced Pink and White. Did the brush strokes from the center out.

Then out came the Rhinestones!! Oh my!  Thankfully I some larger one that helped, although the smaller ones look best in the curves.  Glossy accents will guarantee they won't fall off.

I measured and taped off this 16x20 canvas. Did Spiced Pink and Silver. Once dry, I drew the words on first with a white charcoal pencil then traced with Black Marker.

I hope these easy ideas will inspire you to create some of your own.  You can get some great inspiration on Google images or Pinterest.
