Whimsey girl: Beauty within

Whimsey

I'm not sure why I like to do faces, but I do. In this one I was trying to capture the eyes. She has a haunting look doesn't she? Almost sad.

Girls today are pressured into thinking they have to look a certain way.  I was made fun of in school growing up-1st because I wore glasses, then because I was over weight. I wish I could take the hurt away from young people.  I wish they could really understand they are uniquely made by God-and he loves them just as they are!

I love using DecoArt products.  In this piece, I used the Traditions paint. Heavy body. Coverage is excellent.  After it was done, it was a little flat looking and I added Metallic Lustre to her hair and shirt. DecoArt brushes are really great tools too!

Dream on Whimsey Girl Mixed media

I love drawing whimsey girls. They are sweet, imperfect and fun!
This girl was colored with prisma pencils, fussy cut and glued onto a flat canvas board.
I altered some chipboard elements to add for dimension.  Can you see the clear rain drops on the leaves?  The butterflies were cut, inked around the edges an I added a pearl in the middle.  There's some gold smooch around a lot of the edges of all the pieces.

I scattered some pearls in her hair.   When done, I spritzed some pearl spritz on top of it all.
The lace was attached to the back of the board.
This piece would look great in an open frame or hung by itself.

You can buy it at my Etsy store.  KC Inspired Etsy Shop

Thanks for looking! Have a blessed day!
