Mojo Monday is back!!!! Challenge 506

Mojo Monday is back!!  I LOVE their sketches!  Here's the challenge.
I used Barn Door distress ink and stamped the floral stamp from Simon Says Stamp. It's one of my new favorite. The sentiment and the single flower stamp is also from that same set.

I thank Julee Tilman wit4h Poetic Artistry for bringing it back!!

Christmas Blessings to YOU!

Wow! it's been over a month since I've posted!!
I have been crazy busy.  I guess we all are.

This week I've gotten back to my roots-doing some card making. Relaxing and fun!

With Christmas almost here-I get to use all sorts of combinations-traditional and nontraditional.

My first card is using die cuts. Spellbinders Oval and Tim Holtz Snowman.

This next one uses my beautiful Poinsettia die and my cricut sentiment. (NO stamping!!)

My greens and joy sentiment are from my cricut. LOVE the wood embossing folder from Stampin Up. I did cut them in "planks" and attach them to my white background piece. Vintage photo was rubbed on the folder before I put my plain tan cardstock in.

To get the shimmer and shine I used DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Emerald and gold.

                                               I'm entering the following challenges:

I hope you and your family have a BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Blessed -aren't we all?

Fall is almost here! I'll be glad to have cooler temps!
My gelli plate background was created using DecoArt Acrylic paint.

I've pulled out my stampin up leaf die to enter the following challenges:

The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge-love the fall colors and I attempted to make the wooden background and the circle on the front of the challenge photo.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #124 showing fall colors and ribbon.

Word Art Wednesday challenge #199 using free wordart scripture

I started with my gelli plate.  I used a green and pressed my wood grain embossing folder into it, then added Die for the sentiment layer. Ran the fall color cardstock with a Stampin Up leave die and cut them out. Used Distress ink to highlight the edges and "veins:" Ribbon for the final touches!  I LOVE fall colors and will be sending this to a friend that just gotten home from rehab. An encouraging card for anytime of the year.  The sentiment is FREE from Word Art Wednesday blog.

I hope you love it as much as I do!  Have a blessed day!

Hello You! Challenges

We had a big snow last night.  I'm spending the day participating in challenges! Fun!

Simon Says: Work It Wednesday:  wants to see spring-me too!  These shades of pink scream spring!
Paper Crafters Corner Week 88: had an inspiration photo. I wanted to mimic the globe shape with the different papers stuck on it. I decoupaged one inch scraps onto a piece of white cardstock. Ran it thru my big shot using the swiss dot folder. Cut it in a circle and matted it on white.
Mojo Monday 386: did a tall & skinny card. I did 6x4.5-I wanted to fit my circle. But I followed the layout they had.
The "hello you" is my new diecut from Stampin up. I LOVE it!
Have a blessed day & stay warm!

Thinking of You - Simon Says Challenge

I'm so loving my Deco Arts supplies!!
I've used their Misters to make my own designer paper.  Then I sprayed the leaves I died cut.
Added them to the paper with a Stampin Up sentiment.

The card below I did a water color look using a stencil.  Then layered up some burlap & leaves.
I hope you'll join Simon Says Stamp this week. I stamped the sentiment.

Bokeh Technique-VERY COOL!!

Saw a new technique that I just had to try. I love the results.  See the video below to see the watercolor-stencil technique (Bokeh)
Use watercolor paper 140pd. Distress inks.
When colored-I spritzed with Lindy's Stamp Gang.
Card base next. Layer with different colored circles.  Beautiful results!
Below I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card front.  The crown was cut using my Cricut machine.  The leaves are from Paper Artsy.  Left the background white on this card.
Thank You was cut with my Cricut.  Ribbon from Really Reasonable ribbon.
The sentiment is an SVG file from Kate's Cutables.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!!

Thank You Mixed Media Challenges

I've heard people talking about gelli plates.  Don't have one, but was so inspired by Steph Ackerman at Eclectic Paperie-that I had to try something!!

I've had a couple of rubber shims to use with my Big Shot-but I don't use them!
I put some globs of paint on them, rolled over them, laid my Stencil by Retta on top and started playing!
Make no mistake about it-it was Messy!!  Reminded me of finger painting mess! LOL
But it worked!!

Below are some examples.  The right side I rubbed while the stencil was on top of the paint. Didn't get much color so I took the stencil off and rubbed the left side over top.  Look at the nice texture!!

Here's another example.  I sprinkled black and purple paint watered down using a paint brush.
 Below is another example.
My finished product!!  I inked the edges with Denium Blue distress ink.  Added a fussy cut stamped image from Unity Stamps.  The sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp (stamped with black stazon)

I LOVE how it turned out.  Can't wait to turn the rest of the pages into treasured cards.

Secret Garden Corset Card

Happy Tuesday!
I hope your week is going well.

I wanted to share a wedding card I created with a special couple in mind.

I saw this corset idea done on a jar and wanted to recreate it on a card.  I love how it turned out!
I used my G45 Secret Garden paper-that I hoard and hoard and save every scrap of!! LOL  I fussy cut the roses and little girl.

I've added glitter glue to the roses to make them pop.
I also cut apart some hoarded prima pearls (GASP!!!) and put them here and there-sparingly I might add.  Want to save some for future projects! LOL
Here's a close up of the Stampin Up love sentiment I stamped in pistachio momento ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  The lace and ribbon were in my stash.
Below is the inside of my card.  If I've learned anything from Gloria Stengel-it's to finish the inside as well as the outside! Thank you Gloria!!

Mixed Media Valentine Pocket with card

Our Sweethearts are special and close to our hearts. I wanted to do something extra special for mine.

Instead of a plain envelope for a special valentine's card-I made a pocket.

Decorated it with lace and trim from my stash. I edged the flowers with snow writer to give that soft luscious -vintage look.  I love it!
I made a pocket on the front to slide a gift card in!!  He'll love that!

Here's my card that's tucked inside.  Cute huh?  Love the little key.

I'm entering challenges:

Really Reasonable Ribbon #87

Simon Says Emboss it I embossed the key with words stamp with black embossing powder

The Artistic Stamper Love is in the Air -I stamped the Happy Valentine's Day on the back of the pocket as well as stamped the picture on the card.

Let it snow @ Simon Says Stamp

Snow, Snowflake, Snowman
that's the challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp

I love this digital image from Meljen's Designs.  When I printed it, I made it big enough to fit this 12x12 canvas.  Colored it with pencils.  Did my canvas background with stencils and ink.  They are hard to see, but there are some stamped snowflakes on the background too.
Had these foam die cut snowflakes in my stash.  Inked them and then glittered them.
This is definitely one of my favorite canvases!  Love it.

WAW Challenge #74

You can get FREE Word Art every week  at Word Art Wednesday.
I haven't done one of their challenges in a long time. I miss using scripture every week.

First, I printed the scripture on cream colored card stock.  Then I embossed my angel stamp in Bridal Emboss powder.  Added some seam binding, a couple of Wild Orchid flowers.

Here's a close up of the embossed angel.  I rubbed several distress inks over top of it to highlight the details.

You can get the LeBlanch Angel stamp, Tim Holtz distress ink, seam binding and embossing powder at Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium where the prices are always 20-25% off!

Twine & Washi Tape Valentine

I'm on a Valentine Card roll!
Wanted to incorporate a couple of challenges for this one.
MFP Speedy TV challenge is to use twine.
Simon Says Stamp challenge is to use washi tape.
I have never used washi tape.  I bought some a while back and never have used it. I quite like how this turned out.  Three different colors came in the pack I bought.  I lined a piece of white cardstock with each color and used it behind my tag.

Here's the inside of my card.  I spritzed some pink shimmer mist on cream card stock.  I think it's romantic looking.

Vintage Angel

Background paper is my new Graphic 45.  My frame was cut with my cricut cartridge: Lacy Labels. My Angel was colored with pencils. A little highlighting with a marker.  I've used my distressing block to rough up the edges of everything.  Sponged some Tim Holtz antique ink.
Closeup of my flower & lace embellishment.  Vintage lace in my stash & Wild Orchid flowers.
My finished card.
