G45 Mother Goose pocket page

I love Graphic 45 paper. Do you?

Today I'm featuring their Mother Goose series.
It's full of the basic color scheme: red, yellow, blue and green.  Can't go wrong with those!
The base is a die cut pocket page.
The pocket holds 2 large photo mats.
Check out Robyn's store at Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium. Prices are discounted 20-25% every day!

You can find the die cut pocket page at Diecutslovepaper on Etsy.  She offers many different cuts, colors and sizes.  Very high quality.

Thanks for stopping by!

Altered Book cover Challenge

I was inspired by the challenge at Eclectic Paperie this month.
They are altering books.  I've never made one.  Thought I'd give it a go.
I love how it turned out.  I'm still gluing and adding gesso to the inside pages.
This started as DCWV Rustic paper stack. I stenciled modeling paste mixed with raw umber using Royal Inspirations Stencils by Retta Arrows and Spears. Once it was dry, I added clear glitter glue to give it a shimmer.  I hot glued pink tulle around the die cut flourish, then layered a couple of paper flowers I cut with the same paper line and added a gem in the centers.
I printed my scripture on my computer-sprayed with varnish-then glued down.  I outlined it with a black water color pencil, then a brown marker to smear it in.

I used scripture from Rev 9:7a.  It really speaks to me on how I need to put God first always. Good circumstances and bad.  The scripture is part of Triple The Scraps Bible Study.

I'm also entering this into Word Art Wednesday Challenge #125. Anything goes this week.  I urge you to check out their blog.  Every week they have free word art for you to use.

I hope my book will inspire you to give it a try.

Secret Garden Corset Card

Happy Tuesday!
I hope your week is going well.

I wanted to share a wedding card I created with a special couple in mind.

I saw this corset idea done on a jar and wanted to recreate it on a card.  I love how it turned out!
I used my G45 Secret Garden paper-that I hoard and hoard and save every scrap of!! LOL  I fussy cut the roses and little girl.

I've added glitter glue to the roses to make them pop.
I also cut apart some hoarded prima pearls (GASP!!!) and put them here and there-sparingly I might add.  Want to save some for future projects! LOL
Here's a close up of the Stampin Up love sentiment I stamped in pistachio momento ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  The lace and ribbon were in my stash.
Below is the inside of my card.  If I've learned anything from Gloria Stengel-it's to finish the inside as well as the outside! Thank you Gloria!!
I'm entering the following two challenges:

Modeling Paste & Stencils/Mixed Media

One of my favorite techniques is using stencils and modeling paste.
Robyn carries both in the store.
This painting was done using two different stencils and liquitex modeling paste and acrylic paint.
To bring out the detail of the stencil, after I painted it, I went around each edge with watered down brown/black acrylic paint.  Smear it with your finger.  The shadow adds a lot of dimension.

My verse was printed out on my computer and added with Liquitex gel medium.  You want to also go around the edge of that with watered down paint.  Helps to make it go into the canvas.

You'll find lots of stencils-large and small in Robyns shop.  She has lots of choices on acrylic paint as well.  And I can't live without the Liquitex gesso, matte gel medium and modeling paste!!  They are a MUST have for me!!

Have a great Friday!

Happy St. Patricks Day

Happy St. Patricks Day from me and Retta!!

Why Retta too you may ask?

Because she's my new best friend and designer of the adorable leprechaun
I'm featuring in this adorable card!
She also drew the background and designed the digital paper that's the sky!
She's so multi talented!!
This is the inside of my card.  the designer paper I used--------was Retta's too! Digital paper.
I personally have never used digital paper.  This has opened a whole new idea for me.  No storage issues. No running out of your favorite paper. No buying a whole pack of paper and using 3 or 4 designs and the rest you don't like.
Goodness! Where have I been?  When I find something new and wonderful-I feel like a kid on Christmas morning.
But it's St. Patrick's Day!! LOL

I guess you could say I found my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!  God has blessed me with a new and wonderful friend and artist.  It's my pleasure to share with you all the wonderful things she makes.
She's opened the world of SVG (cutter files) as well as adding to my stencil stash & designing digital images that I adore.

If you want to browse thru the many stencils she has for sell:

Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium

You can find some of her digital creations here:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope all your days will be blessed and you'll be a blessing to others!

Relay For Life Canister

Happy Friday!

Today I'm featuring by good friend Retta's stencils.

I started with cream cardstock.  Sponged distress ink using the cancer ribbon stencil and then the butterfly stencil.
To make the butterfly pop-I heat embossed some clear embossing powder on it.  Then outlined it with vintage photo distress marker.  I have a you tube video showing some of the process at the end of the post.
I LOVE how it turned out!  I don't have a picture of the top and bottom, but it was easy to cut the circles and glue them on.   I cut a big slot in the top one for money to be able to slide in easily.

Going to give this as a gift to my new American Cancer Society director.

I hope your Friday is fabulous!!

You can support my team by clicking on the Relay icon on the left side of my page!  Thanks!!

All Natural layout with Royal Inspirations stencils by Retta

I kept hearing about the Blue Fern Studio's wooden embellishments.  I finally was able to order some.
I love them!  The detail of the cuts are amazing.  I've used several in this layout.

The All Natural title, the butterfly, the leaves and the long flower on the left side of the picture.

After applying gesso, I colored all but the title with gelato's.  It worked really well.
The other great thing's I'm showcasing are the SVG files my good friend Retta has designed.   She's Royal Inspirations by Retta. She also makes stencils. Find some of her creations at here.http://ididitcreations.com/club/

The "love you" and the doily under the corner of the picture are part of one SVG file that she has for a Mother's Day card!  There are 7 or 8 pieces to this file.  As you can see-they are easily used for other things.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Flowers.  I also attached a couple of metal pieces from a haul I received from Alicia Cabral.

Mixed Media Painting-WAW Scripture

I just loved the verse that was given this week on Word Art Wednesday.
Challenge #122-anything goes
It's so easy to get caught up in the world with all it's problems and issues.
It's always good to remember-God is in control!

I created this canvas by applying modeling paste with a stencil and then painting and shadowing.

I printed the verse on my computer, spray sealed it and then added to my canvas.

I love it!!

Vintage Baby Tags

has some beautiful vintage images.
With baby showers coming up, I thought I'd design some gift tags.

These first two tags started out with thin chipboard.  I painted gesso on and let it dry. The did some splats on top with Tim Holtz Distress stains.  Let them sit for a minute and then dab off with a paper towel.
The bronzed pewter give it a really pretty shimmer.
I used bits and pieces of Graphic 45 baby paper.  The crocheted flower above is made by Melody.
The mulberry flowers and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
