Christmas Blessings to YOU!

Wow! it's been over a month since I've posted!!

I have been crazy busy.  I guess we all are.

 

This week I've gotten back to my roots-doing some card making. Relaxing and fun!

 

With Christmas almost here-I get to use all sorts of combinations-traditional and nontraditional.

 

My first card is using die cuts. Spellbinders Oval and Tim Holtz Snowman.

 

This next one uses my beautiful Poinsettia die and my cricut sentiment. (NO stamping!!)

My greens and joy sentiment are from my cricut. LOVE the wood embossing folder from Stampin Up. I did cut them in "planks" and attach them to my white background piece. Vintage photo was rubbed on the folder before I put my plain tan cardstock in.

To get the shimmer and shine I used DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Emerald and gold.

Now that I've started making Christmas cards-I'm all about it! LOL

Today I'm using scoreboard and stylus to add some interest to the white cardstock.
I've used a 1 1/4 inch circle punch to make my ornaments.
Some MME 12 Days of Christmas DP, red ribbon, glossy accents.
If you dont have silver paper for the tiny tops of the ornaments-do like it did and emboss it in silver.

 Mark's Finest Paper & Stamps sketch with a twist and Simple Salutations challenges

First up is Sketch with a twist.  I've used two tree stamps from their stamp collections and colored with colored pencil-several layers to show depth.  Then highlighted with glitter glue.  The Winter Wishes is from their Christmas stamp set as well. 

This next one is for the Simple Salutations challenge.

 I've used their Poinsettia stamp set and cut holly leaves with my cricut cartridge.  The paper is from SU.  The poinsettia is colored with several layers of colored pencil. For final dazzle I added red berries with glitter glue.  Turned out really nice.

Country Christmas @ MFP Speedy TV

I'm guest designing at MFP Speedy TV this month.

It was a priviledge as they have some great stamp sets.  The quality of them is superb.

They have 5 different challenges each week.  One for each day of the week.

is a Wednesday challenge.

This week the twist was to use an animal on the card.

I've featured the Wild West Stamp set & made it into a Christmas card.

Just goes to prove -you can use anything with Christmas paper and it turns out great!

 I really love this stamp set. The details of the horse is really nice.  I just colored him with a couple of shades of brown and layered him on paper.

 This is the inside of my card.  I started with a decorative square from spell binders and cut 2 sides off to make this middle section.  The cute bird and snowflake are from Stampin Up.

My second card is for the Simple Salutations challenge.  Mountains and a Sentiment were the requirements.  Again I used a stamp from the Wild West set.  I love how it turned out as a Christmas Card.  Reminds me of a Country Christmas.

PSC56 and a happy accident

This week at Perfect Sentiments we're using our scraps!

I have TONS of scraps like everyone else.  Every piece on this card was already on my desk.

Even the birdcage die cut!  

 The burgundy strip is a left over on a Graphic45 project I made.  The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of thin cardboard -I then stained it with distress ink.  I stamped the sentiment and covered with black embossing powder-the whole thing was stuck with powder (I didn't let it dry good) so I just went with it. Turned around when that dried and embossed the sentiment in cherry cobbler. Turned out pretty cool!

Sketch Challenge @ MFP

Today @ MFP Speedy TV it's time for the new weekly sketch.  

I'm showing 2 card to show you their Poinsettia stamp stamp set.

The first on I stamped the image on white card stock and then colored with my markers & aqua painter.  I highlighted it with a marker at the end.

 On this second card I stamped it on thin cardboard and then colored with straight markers. I then embossed clear embossing powder on top.  The wreath I colored with iced spruce distress ink, then embossed with irredescent ice and then dotted red glitter paint around for the berries.

 Poinsettia lantern image from Mark's Finest Paper & Stamps.  I embossed the punched corners in gold to match my ribbon.  The ribbon has a wire edge & I love how it looks with the knot.

 My background paper is Stampin Up & it started out craft color & it comes already embossed.  When I rubbed distress ink over it the embossed part pops out!  So cool.  So I have flowers in the background.  Then I simply printed my sentiment for Microsoft word, cut & matted it.  The dove and cream poinsettia is from K and Company.  My brad is from Lost and Found.  Ribbon: Stampin Up gross grain.

PSC53 Christmas Critters

Todays challenge is to make a Christmas card & have a critter on it.

This was my favorite challenge.

 I used Stampin Up Christmas paper and ribbon.  My critter is from one of our previous challenge sponsor-Crafty Sentiment Designs.  I love this cow!  I colored him with pencil. 

Here's the inside of my card.  I stamped snow flakes down the side with Recollection Stamp.  Added A digi image in the corner from Nice Crane Designs for my 2nd critter!
