Mixed Media Birthday Cards

I wanted to share how I created a mixed media card using
Rebecca Baer and DecoArt Stencils, Stamping and embellishments.

Using Gelli Plate is one of my favorite ways to make my own deisgns. I laid the part of the stencil over the plate that I wanted to use. Rebecca Baer Dragonfly Fantasy stencil.

I applied two shades of Americana acrylic paint with my brayer. Pulled print number one.
Allow the design on the plate to dry.

Brayer white on top of dried design and pull print number two.
On the first card I used watercolor pencils to add some dimension to the dragonfly.
I stamped the Prima girl and fussy cut her out. Added her with dimensions. Coloring was done with watercolor pencils.

Heres a close up showing the glitter glue I added to the dragonfly.
For the 2nd card I started with Heartfelt Creations designer paper. Heat embossed the doily using white embossing powder.

I wanted spring colors. The Close to the Heart Country Life stamp set from  was perfect!
I stamped the cute lamp with the sentiment. The back circle was cut from the first gelli print.
Love the orange and purple colors!

Oh My Happy with Mojo Monday

I just adore DecoArt products! Making my own designer paper is so much fun!
The Americana acrylic paints work so well with a gelli plate. I've used some stencils purchased at Walmart for the background.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday #411.
 Supplies Used:
Close to my Heart "Happy Everything" sentiment stamp
DecoArt Americana Paints:  Gingerbread, Shale Green, Natural Buff
Stampin up flower stamp

With all my heart

A close friend got married Saturday.   Who doesn't love spring weddings?
I jumped at the chance to use the sketch at Mojo Monday #291

I used Close to my Heart Valentine's stamp set.  I stamped the biggest rose on cream cardstock using versa mark and clear emboss powder.  Then I sponged/rubbed TH berry distress ink on top of it to make it pop.

The rose embellishment was embossed with cherry cobbler.  I colored it with aqua painter and markers.

The sentiment was also done with cherry cobbler emboss powder.

The beautiful vintage lace I get from a friend.

Multi Media Mini Album Cover

I use school glue stick to glue my 5x6 chipboard to my paper.  This paper came from a kit I bought on my cruise.  I still like to add a lot of my own spin.
I roll my brayer over top to make sure the glue is evenly distributed & make sure it's sticking.; Then cut each corner off because you are going to wrap the chipboard just like a present.
I had used my digital image on regular white cardstock.  I printed two & masked the surfboards. I stamped my waves & colored them with my aqua painter.  Then I combined water to some acrylic blue paint & sponged the sky masking them with hand cut clouds.  I wanted a different blue than my marker.
I stamped my boards & sand using black stazon.  I colored them using multi layers of colored pencils: light orange, dark orange, yellow, white, blue.  I usually finish them off scrubbing them with the white one -it really helps combine the colors. Then I go back with the darkest color & redefine the outline.
To give them more Pizzaz I embossed the surfboards with clear embossing powder, the star fish with gold embossing powder.
I attached my surfboards with small zots.  My Sentiment is a clear sticker that I attached to a piece of blue cardstock & popped up with dimensionals.
Here's my finished project!  It's the front cover of my new mini album I'm working on!
