PSC38: Here comes the Sun!

Summer is here! Along with it is the SUN! Sunshine just makes me smile.  I hope you'll join us in our challenge this week.

Your challenge: create a card with a sunny sentiment like: you are my sunshine, wishing you sunny days, you shine, etc.

The twist: include an image of the sun on your card

I used my rotary cutter to slice thru several pages at once of DP. That way they would match up.  I drew the outline of the sun rays on orange & fussy cut. I punched my yellow circle & scrunched, distressed & then glued to a white punched circle. I outlined the edges with a white gel pen. Popped up sun with dimensionals.

If you want a chance to win  a FREE DIGI-you have to participate.  Jump over to Perfect Sentiments and link up your creation.

Our sponsor is Patties Creations.  She has some beautiful images.

We have a wonderful design team.  Every week they have an inspiring card for you.  I hope you'll visit each one.  They are listed on my left side bar.

WAW Baby Album Word Art

In a world where everyone is out for themselves,  it is such a comfort to know that God loves me so much and that he already has a plan for me. That he always has my best interest at heart. I can face every day knowing my future is with the Lord!

Our sponsor this week is Eclectic Anthology. She has a lovely assortment of things in her store.

"Eclectic Anthology specializes in commercial-use vintage graphics, fonts, and Photoshop shapes, actions, and brushes. Eclectic Anthology is a part of Avalon Rose Design, a vintage-inspired design company."

Each week Word Art Wednesday is growing in participants. We thank each one of you for your participation!
Each designer has a big heart that creates beautiful projects.  Cards, altered items, journals, layouts.  They are ALL amazing!  Be sure and check out each blog.  They are listed on my right side bar.

This week I featured the scripture on a baby album I'm working on.  I wanted to include several pages I've designed. Knowing that God already has a plan for the unborn proves that He is all knowing.

I cut the words/letters and the baby buggy with my cricut.  I faux stitched around each letter with a gel pen.
My goal was to have lots of places for pictures. My dear friend having the baby boy loves to take pictures.

I've put sticky notes letting her know what size picture will fit.

I made this owl using punched circle.  Hand drawed the head & wings. Was so much fun making it!
I mostly do girly projects.  It's been challenging doing a boy album using NO flowers!  I really love how it's turning out.

Thanks for playing with us @ Word Art Wednesday!

Upcycled pictures

I've been working on cards-taking 15 min here & there.  Wanted to post a few of them.
I've really been trying to recycle.

We get all kinds of junk in the mail. One I recently received was an 8x10 poster with small pictures lined up.  I cut them apart to use on my cards.

I also scored at a yard sale -found 17 calendars of Norman Rockwell illustrations.  I've matted this one on kraft cardstock, inked around the image with a white gel pen. Added some die cut leaves for the tree and the natural hemp cord at the bottom.

I love how they both turned out.

Use Your Stuff- challenge 38-make it by hand. I made both bows.
Thanks for stopping by!

PSC Graduation with a twist!

We all know someone who's graduating.  It's so nice to have a nice card on hand to give.  What's even nicer? to have money or a gift card in it!

This weeks challenge @ Perfect Sentiments Challenge
Instead of creating your basic card make a gift card or money holder and use a sentiment appropriate for a graduate.

I just made a yard sale haul that had some loose pages where I found the cap & diploma picture.

I saw a you tube on this @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEeTSmuBpDo&feature=related.
I'm planning on clipping some CASH on the blue circle & tucking inside the hidden pocket.

WAW Deuteronomy Word Art

What happens when we get a really good rain?  Our grass and plants GROW & GROW!  They are getting good-nourishment. The very thing they need to stay alive!
The same thing happens to us as Christians when we hear God's word.  Deuteronomy says we're to let God's teaching fall like rain-steady, one right after another, penetrating our soul. We're to listen and soak it up. Learn-grow. It helps us in our daily life & walk. It prepares us for the hardships, the trials, the valley's.

This weeks Word Art Scripture:

Shabby Cottage Studio is sponsoring our challenge this week.  They carry digi images, paper as well as embellishments, alterables and much more. Be sure and check them out!

No matter how much it rained, my Nannie was say "we need a good rain".  Our souls say "I need nourishment".

PSC36: Father's Day Color Story

I know you are going to want to do the challenge we have this week @ Perfect Sentiments Challenge.  Father's Day is this weekend and you are going to need a card.

It's easy:  Create a card with a Father's Day Sentiment on the FRONT
and use the provided color story as inspiration for the design of your card

Father's-Day-Color-Story
Here's my card:
My favorite technique is distressing.  I scrubbed the edges of the background paper with my scissors & even made a little cut in the upper right corner.  I sponged distress ink around the edges of piece I added.  I made a "postcard" for the next layer using my Paris stamp set, then added a "stamp" I cut out from the Sunday paper a while back.  Made my tag with my sentiment.
I found this poem on the internet & printed it for the inside of my card.
Here's a close up of the silver metal tag I stamped on, tied it to the twine & then added my Father's Day sentiment.

You know we have a very talented Design Team.  They are each listed on the left sidebar.  We have 2 guest designer's that I hope you'll visit and welcome.

If you participate in our challenge and link your card up @ Perfect Sentiments challenge  you might win a FREE IMAGE from our sponsor or be chosen as the top 3 favorites for the week.

Word Art Wednesday: Prayer

Hello!  Happy Wednesday!
I hope you've been having a blessed week.  We have another wonderful Word Art Scripture for you this week:
Prayer has been an intricate part of my life for many years.  When I first became a Christian and became friends with some really Godly women, I noticed they talked about God all the time. It really bothered me that some days I wouldn't think about God all day.  I kept wondering how did they do it?  Was I ever going to think of talking to God all day-every day? Good times & bad?

The longer I've been a Christian, the more I think about and talk to God during my day.  It just happens.  I'm still not where I'd like to be-but I thank God I can talk to him anytime-Good & Bad.

Have you talked to God today?

Here is the card I created for this weeks awesome scripture.  I matted & then cut around the scripture with scissors.
I stamped versa mark & embossed the white cardstock in silver.  Cut a middle with some red vellum.  Tied a gray ribbon & added some punched flowers with a little bling.

I hope you'll visit my design team members listed on the right side of my blog and see what project they've done with the word art scripture.   Be sure & welcome our guest designer: Sandee

I hope you'll be inspired to create!   It can be a card, layout, altered item, journal-anything you feel works for you.  When you get done, go to our blog: Word Art Wednesday and link it up.

Have a blessed week!!

Postage Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Are you up for a Moxie Fab Challenge??
Create a paper crafted project (card, gift bag, tag, layout, home decor item, mini-book cover, etc.) that incorporates a postage element in an innovative way.

My Dad was in the military & was overseas alot.  I thought he'd enjoy a Father's Day Card that looked well traveled!  I've done a lot of distressing.  I used one of my favorite stamp sets.
The most fun item I added was a big stamp image that I cut out of a newspaper insert.  I've been saving it for just the right time-and this was it!  Had the colors I was going with and everything.
The I found this wonderful poem online about Dads & printed & distressed to add to the inside of my card.
I hope all the Father's out there know how special they are.  Mine has been a jewel to me!

I hope ya'll will join me in the challenge @ Moxie Fab World.

See ya!

Clean Craft Room!!

One of my DT buddies-Abby-showed us pics of her new craft room.  It inspired me to clean mine up & move some things around for easier access.

my small shelf on the right houses frames & canvas. (behind it too)
My ardmore houses my painting supplies, some fabric & sewing stuff.
A friend made the top bookshelf for me. Has my acrylic paint, spray mist, punches, a few stamps.
Below are boxes holding photos, cards, envelopes,
My Dad just blessed me with his old printer-so of course I cleaned off a space!
This desk was a throw off from one of the factories that shut down here. I got it for $16. I have a bookcase on left side that houses some of my 12x12 albums, box of embellishments, box of SU stamps.  The drawers on the right hold crochet doilies, Wild Orchid Flowers.
I keep my tote on my right side at all times.  All my scissors, cutting tools, cricut tools are housed & used daily.  Can easily pick it up & move it when I need my sewing machine.
Under my table, are bigger totes with fake flowers, yarn, fabric. My baby Snickers love a box & relaxes while I'm crafting.

Under my other table is this tote on wheels that houses my 12x12 paper & a book with clear pages that holds embellishments.  My trash can & scoreboard are all easily accessable.
My big drawers hold ribbon.  All my white/tan/brown are in a box on the left, I divide the other colors into pencil cases & stack them.  I can easily pull them out & put up on my table to use.

My top drawer houses snail adhesives & big shot dies.
We screwed a wire rack on the wall to my right for my stamp sets. The bottom rung is some of my punches.
This is my wall that I face. I started with a plain wall that I painted a mural on. As storage was needed, we've added some shelf's. My favorite is a towel rack that has my most use punches.
Here's a closeup of the towel rack.
Here are the two seats in the room.  They both were made by my talented Dad.  He weaves baskets, stools & chairs.  I stay on my wide topped stool.  Any visitors can sit on the antique chair.
when my computer is in use it sits on top of the drawers so I'm able to keep up with my challenge requirements.
Do you have scraps??  Who doesn't-right?  A friend told me she puts hers in one of these & I love it!  The colors are in alphabetical order. Looks like a mess-but it's a lot easier looking for colors than my old way.

Hope you are inspired to clean your room!!
