In LOVE with watercolor & stamps

I have been totally inspired  by Sanketi with Unity Stamps and the way she does a watercolor
background with her stamps.

I've been working with my watercolor all week.  Here are 3 examples using Unity Stamps.

Do you love this technique as much as I do?  I'm entering Unity Friends with Flair.

PTT Anything Goes!! Mixed Media Canvas

Party Time Tuesday is having a ANYTHING GOES Challenge!

I've done a mixed media canvas.
I started with my background.  I wanted it to look like stone.
The shelf was done separately.
I lightly drew the birds on a piece of cardstock, fussy cut and glued to the canvas with matte medium.

See the video below for more details.

I added some platinum stickles to the Wild Orchid flowers and attached them with glossy accents.

EEK! A Skull on a Mixed Media background

Halloween is 11 days away! I wanted to share a decorative canvas I did for the occasion.

The back ground is layers of inks, black archival ink stamped with various stamps.

On top of the goodness is a skull fussy cut from an Altered Paper collage sheet.
The sentiment was also from the collage sheet.
I distressed all around the image with antique photo & attached a brad in one of the eye sockets. Popped it up with dimensionals. Below the chin I layered a couple of skeleton leaves, a button, flowers and another brad.

We've partnered with Art Anthology this whole month!  Check out Altered Pages store for some great deals!

PTT Anything Goes!! Birthday Card

Today is Anything goes at Party Time Tuesday!!

I love making my own flowers!
Heartfelt Creations has a wonderful flower die that enables you to make the most awesome looking flowers!  You can use plain cardstock and add some sprays and inks and before your very eyes-
Beautiful flowers!
The purple ones I used a left over piece of packaging.  One side had a slick side. I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang inks, shaped the petals and allowed them to dry good before layering them together.
I die cut some of them from vintage sheet music paper in my stash.
The centers in the large flowers are loose beads glued in the center.  The small flowers have
a single flat back pearl from Wild Orchid Flowers.
The paper line is from Heartfelt Creations.  I took advantage of the sentiments that are included in the package.  A piece of white seam binding completed the front.

We have lots more inspiration over at Party Time Tuesday.  You could win a prize-so hop on over there and enter the challenge today!!

Crows Beware!!

Boo!
Did I scare you?

I don't think this cute scarecrow is going to do much to keep the crows away-do you? LOL
Here's an easy tag to make for Halloween-or change the sentiment for Thanksgiving or fall.

For the background, brayer Art Anthology Dimensional Acrylic  Paint, allow to dry. Using a stencil and makeup sponge add brown ink to the bottom half. Stamp image with black ink, then color with various Faber Castell Gelatos using a small paint brush.  Cut out sentiment, add using gel medium. Distress with paint brush and black Faber Castell Gelato. To finish, edge with brown ink and punch a hole in the top and add fiber/raffia.

Be sure and visit Altered Pages store to see all kinds of wonderful products!!

Halloween Mixed Media with video

Hi!  It's hard to believe it's already October!
This whole month Altered Pages is pairing with Smeared and Smudged in a blog hop.

If you comment on our Altered Pages blog every day-you'll be entered to win a prize!

I know your going to see a lot of Halloween projects this month.
I'd like to inspire you to make a wall hanging.  If you use the MDF board you can punch holes in the top with a Croc-A-Dile and thread ribbon or twine through it to hang it up.
I used Nija oil pastels to create the base background.  Since they're oil based, you can heat them a little with your heat tool and they'll spread easily with your finger.  I then stamped my image with Black Archival ink.

The sentiments are from Halloween collage sheets that you can find in the Altered Pages Shop-HERE

The yellow moon was created using Art Anthology lemon tart dimensional paint.  They have partnered with Altered Pages this month.

I appreciate any comments you'd like to leave.  Please check our blog out every day for tons of inspiration from our wonderful design team!!

You'll be seeing more of me later in the month!  Have a spooky-wonderful month!!
