Stars and Stripes stenciling on T-shirt

Happy Monday!!
I tried a new technique for me. Stenciling on cloth.  I didn't realize how easy it would be!!

I had this red t-shirt that was plain. I'm not really into wearing solid colored shirts. So I thought I'd jazz it up with one of Rebecca's stencils. Call Stars & Stripes. By using her specially designed Stenciler brushes, the paint just glided right on.

Before starting, I put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt.  It also helps keep the surface flat. I stenciled blue for the stripes and white for the stars
I accidentally got a little spot of white on the sleeve-so I added stenciling to one sleeve.  Turned out being a "happy" mistake!!

I hope this will inspire you to do a little creating on your clothes!!

Have a great week!!

Upcycled Composition Book with DecoArt

This was the beginning.  I put a coat of gesso on top of the composition book.  Lay your stencil in the desired position and apply texture paste.  Once it was dry, I added another layers of gesso.
Then the fun begins!!  I spritzed some water on the front and added some drops of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics paints.  Burnt Sienna, Cobalt Turquoise, Cobalt Teal and Titanium white.  Use your finger to move around. Spritz more water if needed. You'll want to dry each color before adding the next so you don't end up with mud!

Once it was dry, I added Metallic Luster to the raised areas of the stencil.  Used Cosmic Blue and Champagne Ice.

Then I used Unity Stamp Indie Girl.

Love how it turned out!!

It;s been a while since I've had time to participate in some challenges. I was blown away by my new Unity Stamps! Been looking forward to making some cards with them.

Let me introduce you to: Indie Girl by Unity Stamps.

I used Lost and Found Portobello Road designer paper.  It seemed to match the challenge going on at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge.
