Unity FWF Linkup with DecoArt

Happy Friday!
I'm so excited to share what I've made today.

                                            I love to recycle -anything!
I've been using frames with my 5x7 canvas.  I have the left over backs.
What could I do??
I still have some stamp sets from my last Unity order I haven't played with.
Unmmm.....what's a girl to do?
Since it's FWF Unity day....

I decided to treat it as a canvas!  I painted it with DecoArt gesso first. Then collaged this beautiful napkin I've been saving from a baby shower using Deco-Page Matte medium.
Using my finger and some Americana acrylic paint, I went around the edges to blend them into my "canvas".  The edge is rubbed with black gelato and smeared with my finger.

I colored my survivor girls with watercolor pencils after stamping them with black archival ink.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out. Added some Wild Orchid flowers to finish it off.  I LOVE how it turned out!

#lovesummerart - How to make a Box Style Mini Album

This is one of the easiest-most perfect mini albums you will ever make!
To fit the idea of #lovesummerart -I chose to use the color palette from Unity's challenge.

The colors are fun and perfectly go with the Faith stamp set.
I have a friend going thru a long journey of cancer treatments and I wanted to make her something she can keep some of her favorite pictures together.
I used DecoArt Americana acrylic paint and my gelli plate.  DecoArt also makes some wonderful stencils-they came in really handy for my prints.
I gathered together as many of my Unity Stamps that are encouraging and about miracles. They sell a lot of them!
I love every one of my prints!! I had to show you every one!

Below on the right side is a brick stencil my friend Retta makes. Stencils by Retta.
Below is the back panel. Do you love it??!!

Here's a video on how to put together the album:

Unity Friends with Flair Friday!

Friday's here and you know what that means!
Unity Stamp's Friends With Flair Linkup!!

I'm still loving this image of Jesus walking on the beach with the little girl.
I used one of my gelli prints that had some blue and grey paint and stamped right on top.
Then I took my distress markers (by Ranger) and did a little highlighting.
I LOVE how it turned out and thought it would be perfect in a frame!
To the frame I added some DecoArt metallic gold around the outside edge.  I stamped Unity Cross from the Faith set and fussy cut it.  layered it with some Wild orchid Flowers.

I'll be linking up!  Hope you love it as much as me!!

ALERT!!!!!  I am joining in a special production on YouTube starting today.  If you want to be WOWED by artist of all types-simply go to YouTube and type in #lovesummerart

See you there!

Watercolor technique for background

I found this cute Rapunzel on Pinterest and colored her with Stampin Up watercolor pencils.  She needed a background to perch on!

I got out my watercolor set. I have a Youtube video below showing how I did it.
I added a stamped castle and sentiment.
Rapunzel is added with dimensionals.

Here's my Youtube Video:

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave a comment-whether you liked it or not!

Pretty Bow Theme at RRR

Pretty Bow Theme

Let me just say-if you've never gotten ribbon from RRR-you need to!
Very high quality. You get excellent prices.

My card today was made for someone that likes leopard print. I didn't have any pattern paper that fit, so I made my own!  Out came my gelli plate!  I used DecoArt supplies-their Media Fluid Acrylics in Titan Buff, Gold Metallic, Paynes Grey and Transparent Red Iron Oxide.  Used their Snake Skin stencil-closest thing I had to "leopard" looking.  I think it turned out pretty reasonable!
Of course, I did several different variations using different colors and different DecoArt products, but liked this one the best.  Added my PRETTY BOW for RRR, some Wild Orchid Flowers and viola'-I beautiful birthday card.

Hope you like it! Have a super blessed day!

Scleroderma Tags for RRR Challenge #121

I have a friend that has a chronic disease that is very painful.
Scleroderma (skleer-oh-DUR-muh) is a group of rare diseases that involve the hardening and tightening of the skin and connective tissues — the fibers that provide the framework and support for your body.

She saw my breast cancer tag and wanted some with the color that represents Scleroderma. That color is teal.  In the photos, the ribbon looks blue-but it's teal.

I had a lot of fun going back and doing some mixed media today!  I've shared some of my process with you.

I started with 4x6 chipboard. I coated it in Deco Art Gesso, then added a layer of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in Cobalt Turquoise Hue. It was a little dark, so using the brayer, I added a coat of Titanium White and then dabbed off with a damp paper towel. Left a nice color and texture.
Then I got my lace stamp out from Stampin Up and stamped in Black Archival Ink.
Then I used some watered down Americana Light Buttermilk acrylic paint and flicked some on top tapping a paint brush.
I wasn't done yet!!  I had to use a stencil!  I used Americana Dark Chocolate acrylic paint and lightly applied thru the Burning Rubber stencil from DecoArt's Andy Skinner.
Then I embellished!!  Teal ribbon, string pearls, a cute digital image of the bear (colored with Stampin up watercolor pencils) I added Glossy accents to the ribbon.  Cut the love with my cricut.  I think that's about it!  I love how they turned out.

Phyllis Harris ...I will never leave you @ Unity

Friday always means: Friends With Flair at Unity Stamps!!

They are having some really great sales this weekend.  You need to check them out!

Phyllis Harris stamps always steal my heart.  Such good sentiments too!
I love sending encouraging cards to cancer patients and survivors.
This stamp is perfect!

I stamped with Black Archival Ink and colored with Stampin up watercolor pencils.
It doesn't need any additions!

The inside features a stamp from Unity's stamp set called Faith.
The background was done with my gelli plate. Stamped the sentiment right on top with Black Archival ink.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Fourth of July!  I'll be spending time with my Mom & Dad. Will be happy times!
