Let's Party With Unity Stamp

I love the slim line cards.  Not sure why I've just found out about them.
There are several challenges going on using a slim line card. I used 3 1/2x 7.

I've use a Unity stamp for my Party Girl.  Did some paper piercing for her clothes.  Punched several balloons out for the sides.  The designer paper really makes the card come together!

Country Christmas Card

I love this truck stamp for a Christmas card!

I started with a grey and white gelli printed background.  Then stamped my truck and snowflakes that were heat embossed with grey.  I did some shading on the truck with a grey marker. The only pop of color is the trees and wreath. I'm loving the snowy look!!

The stamps are from Unity Stamp Company.

Unity Christmas Wishes

I love the techniques I used on the card. The outcome is so soft and beautiful!

I wanted to join the challenge at Unity which was using multiple shades of grey.  That was my jumping board.  I did several backgrounds using my gelli plate and white and black acrylic paint.

Then I used Unity Stamps to create the scene.  Snowflakes were spaced out and embossed with crystal effects.  They really shine in person!  My Unity lady was embossed in silver.  I colored her with markers smearing the ink out so I was able to use just a small amount and "hint" at the color of her clothing.

I stamped the Christmas wish on vellum and finished my card.

Fall Birthday Wishes using Unity Stamps

Fall is my favorite season to paint, make cards-do anything creative because I LOVE the color palette!! This card just came together in no time.

I stamped the leaves with Unity Kit of the Month leaves-if you look closely, the leaves have a heart in the middle.  Colored them with colored pencil, fussy cut them to arrange on top of the card base.

I had some spare flowers from another project that I glued on top. Attached tiny flat back pearls in the centers.

Added a touch of ribbon and viola!  Done.

ATC Fun with Unity Stamps

This weeks challenge at nity is to make ATC cards.  The size is 2 1/2  3 1/2.  I used some of the STACKS of gelli plate backgrounds I have stored up!! Actually, they are perfect for this type of thing. I like layers. So that was my beginning point. I picked out which stamps I wanted to use.  My newest FAVORITE Unity stamps is this huge sun! I LOVE it!

This first ATC I used colored pencils to highlight around the sun. Then used some distress ink to finish.  Added the cute sentiment and it was done!

This 2nd ATC is the other side of the sun stamp.  Totally different feel huh? The center of the sun I filled in with glitter.  Cutting the sentiment into individual words allows you to place them wherever you want.

This last one turned out great!!  I stamped it first, but the background was too bold, so I painted white gesso over top and allowed it to dry.  Then stamped again and colored with pencils. I put a coating off glossy accents on the stamp to bring more interest.

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics as watercolors

Watercolor is what everyone is doing right now.  I only have the cheap set from Walmart. So I got my Decoart Media Fluid Acrylics out and used them like watercolors. The pigment is is so concentrated, you only have to use a tiny bit of paint.
The stamps are from Unity.  The first one I embossed with black.  The 2nd one I used Black Andrionick ink.  I painted them on 8x8 size canvas.   I like the sun the best.

I used Unity Stamps on both canvas.

I used the following colors:
#1 canvas
Yellow Gold Light
Green Gold
Phthalo Green Blue
Primary Cyan

#2 canvas
Titanium white
Ultramarine Blue
Primary cyan
Hansa Yellow Medium
Phthalo  Orange
Carbon black

Sympathy Cards

I used to never like doing Sympathy cards, but now that I have appropriate stamps and sentiments, I like doing my own.
This stamp and sentiment is from Unity Stamps.
This first one is a gelli plate background.  I stamped the stamp on it and on a separate paper.  I colored with colored pencils, fussy cut it and added to the background.  That way you don't have to cut around all the words.

This 2nd one was a black and white challenge that Unity is doing this week.  I stamped it on a piece of paper torn out of a book.  Painted with DecoArt Traditions acrylic paint.  Wasn't sure how the page would hold up with the paint, but I didn't use any water and it did great!  I ran my scissors around the edges to give a vintage look and then glued onto black cardstock.

Gelli Plate Backgrounds converted to cards

If you are a follower, you know I adore making my own paper with my gelli plate. I use Americana Acrylic paint by DecoArt. It is the perfect consistency.  I like to experiment adding the glazing medium on the gelli plate after I brayer my colors on.  You then can stamp on the background-which I've done on the first cards background.

DecoArt offers 260 colors!!!  Talk about matching whatever project your working on! Wow!!  I hope you'll check out their website and try some yourself. You can also find their products at local stores like Joann's Fabrics, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels.

Spring Flowers using Unity Stamps

It's spring and I'm ready to do some colorful cards using some of my flower stamps!  This is a stamp from Unity April Kit of the Month.

I used Tim Holtz distress inks to stamp the flowers around the edges of my cardstock. Then randomly colored them in with matching colored pencils.  You can't tell it from the picture, but I randomly put some glue on the petals and sprinkled DecoArt glamor dust on top.

Made the card sparkle and shine!

Eclipse Technique Card

I just found out about this new technique called Eclipse! When you cut out your letters or shapes, I backed them with the same color cardstock that the background is layered on, slightly offset. Then, add dimensionals to the back and pop them up. Easy!!

I used Unity Stamp for the image.  I stamped that first, then did the cutting out. I LOVE this new technique!!

Shaving Foam Background -Unity Stamp

Having a good time with my new Unity Kit.
This is a great stamp -has lots of details to color in.
I colored using markers and a blender.
The background was down with one of my favorite techniques using shaving foam!

Here's a couple of links to how to use shaving foam.

Here's my finished card-mounted to a matching cardstock. Size 4.25x5.25.

I hope this inspires you to try new techniques!  Happy New Year!!

Watercolor with Unity Butterfly Stamp

It's been a while since I've been in my studio. I finished up a painting project and wanted to do something more fun! So I searched challenges and saw the one for Craft Stamper Magazine-anything goes. I haven't even had time to play with my newest stamp set from Unity Stamps.

Butterflies are one of my favorites!
I stamped and embossed the butterfly stamp in white on watercolor paper.
Then you just drop in watercolor paint.  I made two panels, so I was able to stamp my sentiment on the extra one and cut out so it would match the theme.  What an easy and fun card to create! You could definitely do multiples with no trouble at all!

I hope you are inspired to try dry embossing yourself. There are so many options.
