Vintage Library Cards in altered journal

I love vintage images.  Nice Crane Designs have some Library Cards that fit this journal perfectly.  I started with a plain composition book and covered the front and back with pink gingham designer paper. I heavily distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink. On the front I even made a gap so the G45 Secret Garden paper would show through. I colored the images with pencils and then fussy cut them out.   Distressed the edges.   The front cover was attached and surrounded with  Wild Orchid flowers. I've highlighted with some G45 Secret Garden cut outs.
On the inside and rear page I created pockets so I could slide the library card in.  They could be used for photo mats or notes.

Be sure to browse Nice Crane Designs store for all your vintage needs!

Wait on the Lord Canvas

One of our challenges at OWSE is to create something with a bird.   I've been wanting to paint the pine trees for a long time.
This verse from Psalms 27:14 really spoke to me this week. This is a 16x20 canvas. I've painted using acrylic paint.  I printed the verse from my computer and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz vintage photo.  I sprayed walnut and cornflower spray solution on the edges. Gave it lots of dimension and depth.

I'm entering this in Paint Party Friday and Word Art Wednesday.
Hope you like it!

OWSE Friday Feature: Mixed Media canvas

It's time for Friday's Feature at Crafting with OWSE!   Today I've used an 8x10 canvas.  I had painted it with acrylic paints.
Then I took some lace and started layering it onto the canvas using mod podge.
You need to coat the lace and the canvas really well.

After it's dry, I used some gesso and spray inks to make areas pop.

I had a frame from MME that I glued on with mod podge.
To make my photo pop I used my finger to go around the edges with gesso.  I love that look!

Added a few embellishments: ribbon, Wild Orchid flowers, buttons.

You can purchase most of the items I used at our shop.  All prices are discounted daily.
Check it out!

Flowers with a vintage feek

Wanted to share a canvas I've been working on. It's taken several weeks. I always have multiple projects going on!
The canvas is 30x40. For my background, I used several layers of paint and gesso. I added some sponging using stencils. For the words, I cut John 3:16 out with my cricut and used it for my stencil. Love how it turned out. I hand drew my flowers and painted many layers to get good depth of color.
