God Bless You Cancer tag

Happy Friday!!
I wanted to share this background technique I did.
I started with a 3 1/2 x 6 piece thin chipboard. I did a thin coat of gesso.
Allow to dry good.
Then using Tim Holtz distress stains I plopped it down in several areas so that it made
a SPLAT!
then I lightly spritzed some water on it and let it mix around a little
fold a paper towel in half and gently blot the darkest off. Allow to dry and then splat the bronzed pewter. I tapped the paper towel a little over it.  The pewter left a beautiful shiny finish which I adore!
Then using a stencil and some cocoa ink and stenciled Hope for a cure.  I LOVE this stencil!!
I am a little biased because a good friend of mine designed the stencil.
Hope for a cure Stencil #1070 @ Royal Inspirations by Retta
Then I embellished my tag  with a piece of ripped cardboard (I spritzed with Lindy's Stamp Gang -which we now carry in the store!!)  I colored my cute bear image with Prisma colored pencils.  The little cut designer paper is from Graphic 45. Then I added an eyelet for a ribbon.
 My finished tag below!
You can find almost all the products used here in Robyn's store:  Outlaw Women Scrapbook
Emporium.

I hope you have a fabulous Friday! Come back tomorrow for another project using Royal Inspirations by Retta!

Rose canvas painting

I found a new mixed media site.  This month they are doing painting as their focus.
Challenge #12
This is 8x10 canvas.  I used acrylic paints.  Getting my highlights and lowlights right was challenging.  I used some stencils on the background.  I used a stencil on the vase that a friend of mine designed- Retta Sumpter.

Happy Birthday with Simon Wednesday Challenge

I made two cards for the Simon Wednesday Challenge.
We're to use kraft cardstock and they are featuring Memory Box products.

On both cards I used Martha Steward & Stampin Up Butterflys

The one below I used Stampin Up hexagon die.
I love how they both turned out.  I hope you'll head over to Simon Wednesday Challenge yourself!

Unity Friends With Flair

Today is Friends with Flair at Unity Stamp Company
I stamped and fussy cut one of my favorite Unity stamps.

Tied a big bow at the top. the background paper is gold
and the top designer paper is from Stampin Up.

I colored the stamped image with Prisma pencils.

My help comes from the Lord

Scripture Lesson #3 with Patter Cross
reminds me that even though I go thru trials and times of trouble-God is always with me.

We all have our times of trials. The question is what do we do during those times?
I know I call friends and family to discuss it, sometimes asking for prayer.
My first step should be to go to my God. He's the one that can get me thru it.

I've used a 11x14 piece of canvas paper. Used gelatos to create the sky, applied modeling paste thru a stencil to get the "rays".  Hand wrote some of the words that describe My God.  The flowers are al the good things he provides: peace, love, joy, comfort, strength...the list goes on and on.

The scripture I used on my piece is
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.

Below I was trying to show the rays of goodness, mercy & love that pour down from God.
The song lyrics "I lift my eyes up -my help comes from the Lord" really spoke to me.

I'm sharing this at Word Art Wednesday. My dear friend Karen is a great woman of God. She shares his word weekly.  I hope you'll also go to her blog and check it out.

ZFold Mini Album with G45 Typography

Have you heard about the new blog in town?
It's all about using what's in your stash-what you hoard.
Do we have problems with that??  oh no!

I don't think I've met a crafter yet that hasn't admitted to hoarding.

One of my favorite things is G45 designer paper.
This mini album is using their Typography DP.
I've also added in some solid colors from colorbok.

The style I'm showing is Z Fold.  I love this style. I'm simple and I can make one in just a couple of hours.  It turns out great every time.

I've used some lace from my stash and did some fussy cutting with the paper line.  There are some Wild Orchid Flowers decorating the front as well.

Pretty much the paper speaks for itself in this album

The only other thing I used was adhesive.  Used some Scotch quick drying glue, scoretape and my Glue Art Glider Pro.

Thanks for stopping by.  If you'd like to see the video I shot of it. Find it here.

PaperArtsy Clare Lloyd ART

I used 130 lb watercolor paper cut at 6x4.5
Makeup sponge, Vanilla Ice Cream acrylic paint and Yellow Oxide
dabbed and swirled over the whole background.

Stamped background (unity stamp) with black stazon ink.
Stenciled Blue Bonnet acrylic paint with the makeup sponge.  Forgot to take more pictures here!!
Using a makeup sponge, I put paint on a butterfly stamp and stamped in several places. I used Fresco Rose paint.
Did the same thing using yellow oxide paint and my Unity Joy stamp.  Cut my girl out and glued her on with Scotch quick dry, diecut a butterfly Martha Stewart punch, stamped Survivor (Unity Stamp) and cut with Deckle scissors (edged with rose & black paint using makeup sponge) Add the sentiment with dimensionals.
If you want to see how to make your own girl and background-check out Clare's tutorial on the PaperArtsy blog HERE

I LOVE HOW SHE TURNED OUT!!!!!!!!!
