Mixed Media Canvas

OWSE I Did It Creations

I mod podged designer paper onto my 9x12 canvas.  Painted with gesso, then sponged paint around the edges.  I sketched in my whimsy girl and painted her.  Took some chipboard pieces and painted them and glued them on.  Gives the whole piece a 3D look.

Victorian Lady

This gorgeous Vintage Lady can be found at Nice Crane Designs. I've used K and Company paper, Wild Orchid flowers, Tim Holtz Old paper distress ink.  Layered on a 8x10 canvas.  I've sprayed a fixitive on the papers before attaching the flowers.

Joyful Times

A friend was featured in the newspaper with his daughter at the fair. He wanted  something nice put together for his wife's Christmas present.
I matted the picture on black with a designer paper background.
The picture is not real clear but I wanted to bring the gold tones.
I lines two edges with pearl strand from Wild Orchid flowers.
The outside of the frame I use Really Reasonable Ribbon and Wild Orchid Flowers.

I'm entering this into The Really Reasonable challenge.

Bandana Technique

I started with a cream colored piece of card stock.
I stamped several different stamps using black stazon.
Then take inks and a sponge and apply colors randomly till you have th whole page colored in.

Once your done sponging all over, take a white ink pen and highlight each design. I also added dots.

Now that it's done, I could do a couple of things.  Use it for a card front, on top of mixed media canvas names a couple of things.

I'll be showing this technique @ OWSE.

It's all about you: Whimsical Girl

First, I covered the canvas with pink tissue paper using mod podge. After it dried good, I rubbed Tim Holtz Antique photo distress ink over most of the canvas with a sponge.
2nd- I drew my girl's face and neck in my sketch book, colored it with Derwent colored pencils and cut it out.
3rd-I laid the face on my canvas to judge how big to cut the dress and wings.  My wings were cut out from a book.  I used Tacky glue to attach my pieces to the canvas.
4th-I painted her hair with brown acrylic paint.
5th-I stamped various words and music notes several places. I stamped the letters LOVE over her head.
6th-I embellished her -running tiny brown and lavender pearls in her hair, some lace around her neck and hair, flowers.
7th-sprayed her with 2 coats of fixitive.

I LOVE how she turned out.  FYI inside the heart I stamped "it's all about you"

My intention is to encourage young girls.  They are growing up with low self esteem thinking they have to be a certain way to receive love and acceptance.

Please pray for our youth.

Stamp N Doodle-Christmas Recipes

This week at Stamp N Doodle the design team is cooking up something special!
Featuring Christmas Recipes.
Sticking with my canvas ideas-I've included a Recipe For a Happy Home.  My SND image was colored with Derwent Pencils.  I made the lace flower by hot gluing lace in a circle and adding a metal center piece from Bo Bunny and a La Petite flower in the middle.
The background was painted, dabbed with paper towels, applied crackle paint, dabbed brown and copper over top. I lov making things look weathered! My new "thing".

I hope you'll hop on over to Stamp N Doodle and join in the fun.  There's always a prize!!

Multi Media Canvas

I've been practicing a new techqniue with Ranger spray ink.
I did the first layer with yellow, then layed some flowers and spritze with cranberry.
Using a roll of paper towels, I rolled overtop of it.
After it dried I hand drew my lady and painted her with acrylics.
This next canvas I layered papers, scripture and wild orchid flowers.
The next box canvas I used my new stencil from OWSE. Had lots of fun making this one. Used an image from Meljen's design.. I colored my image with pencils. Added some foam snowflakes that I coated with blue glitter.

Vintage Frame

I layered my Victorian Image.
has so many beautiful digital images.
