Mother's Day Cards

Here are some of my Mother's Day cards I've made. Have had a great time!  Lots of Wild Orchid flowers, Stampin Up punches, pearls, ribbons....
This motorcycle was cut from MTC file. Custom order.....

No stamping-Mother's Day card=WOW!!!!

Happy Monday!  Mother's Day is coming up and I've been making cards like crazy!  The Altered pages collages have some of the best images to use! This one comes from 1731D Bits and Pieces.  When receiving a collage sheet, there are numerous images on one sheet.  What works the best for me is to crop the pictures in Microsoft word and then resize them in Paint. Works like a charm!

The bottom layer (image 1) I took a paint brush and rubbed some gesso around the edges and then sprinkled extra fine glitter around the edge and allowed to dry.
Layering designer paper really gives depth and dimension.
I wrapped a piece of seam binding around the postcard images after adding it to another piece of designer paper. Add it to the background with foam dimensionals.  Then added flowers around the edge. I did the same technique on the flowers -adding gesso with a paint brush and then sprinkling glitter on top of it while wet.  Close up of the flowers (image 3)

Tax Day play time

Today was the dreaded April 15th! Were you happy or sad? Did you create anything on this special day?
I wanted to share this gelli plate card I made. The sentiment is from Stampin Up-a new die. I love it!!!!

April Shower challenge @ The Mixed Meda

April showers are here!  It sounded like a fun challenge-so  I grabbed my gelli plate and had some fun layering paint and stencils. The mixed Media April challenge #11 is about April showers & May flowers.
Used Stampin UP star stencil and Andy Skinner Vogue and Accessories Mixed Media Stencils made by Deco Art.

Shaving Cream technique for Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is coming up and I have been making cards like crazy.  I love challenges too, so combining both seems like a no-brainer!
Really Reasonable Ribbon's challenge is Wings-see my Adorable Angels  Mojo Monday #392 has awesome sketches. This is the result:
I did the foam technique using a couple of Americana Acrylic paints with some white cardstock.  Added ribbons and a Wild Orchid Flowers.  My adorable angel image is from Altered Pages collages.

Below is a closeup showing more details.  I made my font in Photoshop.

Mother's Day with Unity Stamps

Unity Stamps are some of my favorites. I wanted to play along with their challenge this month. They give you 3 options-a color challenge, a sketch, or a layout. I started with the color challenge-that's where the turquoise/aqua colors came from. I couldn't seem to get the coral colors incorporated-so I switched over to the sketch.

I turned it up-can you tell? I stamped and heat embossed down the center of white cardstock with one of their background stamps.  I stamped the flowers on a piece of specialty card stock and colored in with distress inks and a paint brush. I love the water color effect. Add a sentiment, some ribbon and pearls to finish it off.

Journaling with Stencils & AP

Journaling has become a great way for me to document my bible study time.  The pictures you can get from Altered Pages Collage sheets really tie in with what I'm trying to design.
I've used 1456D Angel Voices and 524D Holy Cards.
We've partnered with Stencils 1 this month.  I used a chain stencil. It comes with 4 different ones!
To see the technique I used on the chains-jump over to Altered Pages Blog for the video tutorial.   ALTERED PAGES BLOG

Mothers Day Mixed Media card

I'm still loving  my gelli plate! I've used Papercrafting Challenge #93 as my inspiration point. The colors in the magazine cover just screamed SPRING!

I grabbed my gelli plate! See my video for the tutorial.
Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you're inspired to create!
