Happy Birthday

t
This week at Stamp N Doodle our challenge is to make a girl's birthday card.  I've used a Stamp N Doodle image.
Colored her with Derwent pencils.  Layered some Stampin Up DP.
Stamped the sentiment with versa mark and embossed in white.
I spritzed some pale pink in the middle which looks a lot better in person.

I hope you'll jump over to our blog and see what my other team members have created.

Check it out at Stamp N Doodle.  Enter your creation to be entered to win a free SND image!

I'm also entering Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge. Anything goes

I spritzed Cranberry over top of a felt heart and created my cool background.
Taking a piece of cream card stock I stamped words lightly and then "Love Sweet Love"
Used a couple of scraps for the flower bling & viola!

I have loved making Valentine cards this year.

Valentines with Nice Crane

Look at this beautiful Valentine's Pouch.
There's card with candy stuck in there!!
Sweets for my sweet!
I was inspired by Ravens and Writing Desks. She even has a tutorial video.
I thought it was such a cute idea. I made 2 at a time.  You start with a paper bag.
Then you have pockets to put your valentine's in. Below is a valentine with twine around it and a bag of M and M's.

Here's a handmade pockets with 2 tags inside.
A card with holes to insert a lolly pop.  All images are Nice Crane Designs.

As you can see his images can be sized to any size you need. Can be used on cards, tags, altered items.  Be sure and check him out!

Send A Smile 4 Kids

How would you like to support a really wonderful organization?
All you have to do is make and send cards for kids.
This week is anything goes.
Had this cute boy image from Stamp N Doodle.  Colored in with Derwent pencils.

Twine & Washi Tape Valentine

I'm on a Valentine Card roll!
Wanted to incorporate a couple of challenges for this one.
MFP Speedy TV challenge is to use twine.
Simon Says Stamp challenge is to use washi tape.
I have never used washi tape.  I bought some a while back and never have used it. I quite like how this turned out.  Three different colors came in the pack I bought.  I lined a piece of white cardstock with each color and used it behind my tag.

Here's the inside of my card.  I spritzed some pink shimmer mist on cream card stock.  I think it's romantic looking.

Negative Space: Wonder

I found an interesting challenge today.  Sentimental Sundays challenge #138 is to decorate a negative space.  I've never tried this before.  It was really fun.
I used a spellbinder to cut the center out.
I also cut a frame to go around the outside of it.
I put brown behind my negative space and use a pop dot to raise my image.

My  image is Wonder from Mo Digital.
I colored her with Derwent pencils.

My sentiment is from Market Street Stamps.

I had fun with the inside too.  I used the same spellbinder die to cut the brown. I used white embossing powder to the flowers around the edges.

 The verse says:
If we are ever to enjoy life,
now is the time,
not tomorrow or next year....
Today should always be our most wonderful day!

Thank You God for my Mom

This week at  Inspired Stamps the verse for our challenge is
Psalm 92:4

I'm so thankful for my Mom.  She's been a rock for our whole family at one time or another.
I was diagnosed with cancer January 2005. for the next year my Mom was there for me.
She spent the night in the hospital with me during my week of surgery, took me & picked me up every week for my chemo treatments, she encouraged me when I was down, brought me food when I couldn't cook, cleaned me up when I was sick all over myself, held me on the commode when I didn't have the strength, asked questions of the doctors when I couldn't think straight, best of all-she prayed for me-day and night.
I could have never had a better caregiver in the world.

Both our birthdays is in January.  The picture on my layout is this past weekend at Outback Steak house celebrating my birthday.  I can't wait till 1/31/13-that's when we'll celebrate her birthday!

The paper is from stampin up. Presto pattern. It started off white with embossed words.  I rubbed a couple of different distress inks over it so the embossed words would show up.  I stamped and stenciled on top of that.
Added a few embellishments and was done. I love how it turned out.
Most of all-I love my Mom!

Sassy Girl Birthday

Love the sketch over at Mojo Monday!
I wanted to use blue. The stars are actually recycled from a Christmas card!

Golden Retriever birthday

The sketch at Mojo Monday was perfect for this paper line called Haberdash.

The cute golden retriever is an image from Lauren Curtis and can be found at Stamp N Doodle.
The little "dog tag" is a disc that I embossed my Happy Birthday sentiment on.

We have a very talented design team.  Please head over to Stamp N Doodle for our challenge this week.

Monkey Business

I have so many beautiful pictures of my granddaughter!

I've done this layout from a sketch at  My Creative Sketches
The DP is Animal Crackers.
Thought it fit her PJ's very well.  It was a lot of fun playing.

Naughty or Nice?

I have found a wonderful and inspiring layout website.
Here is a layout from their January sketch.

I recycled a couple of Christmas Cards-can you tell?
I love the tiny bows.  I used my calligraphy pen to add a little journaling.

One Busy Girl

These are pictures of my granddaughter when she visited during Christmas.
She was almost a year old.
I bad forgotten how busy toddlers are!  She played a lot with a wooden spoon and water bottle.
She has toys-she's just not interested in them! LOL

I made this 2 page layout from the weekly sketch at Let's Scrap. I need to Incorporate a lot of pictures in the layouts.  I take too many! LOL

Her First Beach Trip

I did a 2 page layout inspired by the sketch @  Let's Scrap
They have a new sketch weekly.
It's been 6 months or more since I've scrapbooked. I'm WAY BEHIND!

I made all my flowers. I had them all in my stash from printing extras.  I spritzed them with different soft colors and them used some pearl drops in the centers.  I love the colors of this layout.
I am participating in a year long challenge @ Inspired Stamps

Sunday Scripture Challenge: 52 Weeks of Gratitude: Week 1

Our scripture is Psalm 118:24: For this is the day the Lord has made, let us be glad in it.

I'm thankful I was able to experience my granddaughter's first trip to the beach. Seeing God's creation from the eye's of a child brings the magic back!

I hope you'll join us in the Sunday Scripture Challenge.
