I participated in a challenge at Paper Artsy today.
Alison Bomber is the featured artist.

Did lots of layers.
Love how it turned out.
Will make a great encouragement for someone.

Cereal box magically becomes card holder!

I entered into a challenge over at My Scrap Room
We had to alter a cereal box into a card/envelope holder for Christmas.
We had to use Christmas theme, poinsettia, ribbon, felt, and  a stamped image.

For my poinsettia I used Mark's Finest Papers stamp set.  Has a beautiful poinsettia.  I fussy cut several layers and then put them together with Scrap Dots.  Give them some height.  I used Distress stickles and Liquid Pearls to jazz them up.
I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set, outlined stamped it withTim Holtz Snowman Blueprint tag & die cut it.  My felt is the little leaves on the poinsettias around the sentiment.
Add string pearls from Wild Orchid Flowers. (that's also where the small poinsettias came from)
Here's a close up of the fussy cut poinsettia's

I LOVE how it turned out.  I'll definitely put this to use immediately!
Hope you'll go check out Gina's site.  They have tutorials, swaps, photo gallery like all ning sites.

Decorate Pilar Christmas Candles

There are several ways you can decorate a candle.
Using Archival ink, stamp your image/sentiment onto tissue paper.
You can color your image.  I used markers and gelatos with a paint brush.
In the past I've also colored with pencils. Even though the tissue paper is delicate, it's amazing how well you can color it without ripping it.
Cut it out as close as possible.
lay the image onto your candle and cover it with a piece of was paper. You want the waxy side facing the candle.  Heat it with heat gun and it magically melts the tissue paper into the candle!
I love doing this-amazes me every time!!
I tried stamping directly onto the candle with a word stamp and brown archival ink.  It ended up smearing off. I think it was the finish on my candle?  I ended up taking a paper towel and wiping it off.   The candle on the left is the sentiment and image (cut two different pieces) and melted them on.
The I took minimal embellishments and added to them.  I was really fun.
Use buttons, ribbon, flowers, lace, cardstock-whatever you want!

You can find the supplies: cardstock, archival ink, distress ink, prima flowers, lace, trim, Kaiser Craft and Graphic 45 Christmas designer papers, ribbon at our store.  Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium  PRICES ARE DISCOUNTED DAILY 20-25%

Altered Box-Vintage Style

Happy Friday!!!
This week has flown by!  I hope you've had a creative one.

One of my most favorite things to do is alter boxes.
I start by painting the edges-which in this case end up covered pretty good.  I used Tim Holtz vintage photo distress paint-it comes in a dabber bottle.  Works so well to go around edges.
Since the box top covers the bottom of the box-you don't want to put designer paper on the bottom edges-the box won't shut properly.  So the paper is only on the bottom

I collaged the top of the box.  Ripped pieces approximately 2x2 size.  Liquitex matt medium will glue is all down nicely.  Then is sprayed some  brown spritzer..

I had this wonderful trim from my stash.  Been itching to use it!  Use your hot glue gun to attach it all the way around your edges.
The pic below shows the glass feet I put on when I'm finished-use hot glue or glossy accents.

I started layering.   had a dress form that I had mod-podged and inked up that I put a safety pin in, a spell binders die cut that was heavily inked around the edges.  A Christmas ornament frame that I gesso and repainted to antique it up.  I have a photo of a vintage girl inside (from Nice Crane Designs).
and then flowers-several of them.  If I don't have the right color, I use watered down distress ink and paint brush and change the colors.  You can add stickles, distress inks, etc to doll them up.
The last flower I made with lace from my stash and a vintage button.
I hope this inspires you to take some plain and doll it up into a spectacular product!

You can find the inks, paint dabbers, lace, prima flowers, designer paper, trims, glossy accents, and many more products at our store Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium.  The prices are 20-25% lower than retail EVERY DAY!!!!!

Have a blessed day!
