PSC32: Banner Birthday

Happy Wednesday to all of you crafters!  I am back from vacation and didn't realize what day it was until I was out of town & couldn't post.

Wednesdays are a special day at Perfect Sentiments Challenge Blog.  That's when our weekly challenge begins.  I didn't have time to get my card ready for today's challenge, but will post it for you to see ASAP.  I used the digi image from our sponsor and it is a cute one.  I'll post it later this week.

On to the challenge:

Challenge:  Create a card with a birthday sentiment
Twist:  Use a banner on your card

Our wonderful sponsor is Stitchy Bear Stamps

You've got to check her out: she has some great images.  She's been very generous to be a repeat sponsor for Perfect Sentiments.

Stacked Pumpkins Class

Fall is in the air!  The painters were excited to paint this great 16x20 Social Art-networking Design!  The did a fabulous job!  They learned how to use their paintbrushes to create thin lines as well as thick ones.  Dry-brushing technique.  The #2 round brush is perfect for the vines surrounding the bottom of the pumpkins.

We had some first timers and some seasoned painters. Everyone had a great time!

Happy Birthday with Paper Artsy stamps/masking

I was inspired by the current challenge at Paper Artsy-masking.  I've created this card using a different kind of masking. I brayed paint onto my gelli plate and this pushed the Paper Artsy flower stamps into the paint. Then I pulled the print. Wow!! The stamp pulled the paint off creating a negative space. I hightlighted the stamps with watercolor pencils. Did some additional stamping with Paper Artsy vine, then stamped The Happy Birthday sentiment from Stampin Up.  Added 3 die cut flowers on top with dimensional s to finish the card. I LOVE how it turned out!! I hope this inspires you!!!

Christmas Canister-Recycled with Deco Art

I had a small coffee canister and immediately knew I had to alter it! Does that happen to you? I used some new products from Deco Arts. Their Metallic Wax Finish covered the slick surface of the canister. See the tutorial at the end of the post. Want to get in on a challenge with some prizes?? Check it out at Party Time Tuesdays!
**I tried several adhesives in order to glue down embellishments on this wax product. E6000 is the only one that I finally got to work.
