Upcycle Wooden Toilet Paper Holder
I purchased this Toilet Paper holder 30+ years ago! It was all white with panels that fit inside the front door. I decided it was time for an upcycle!
I followed Sandy McTier's YouTube video. See below. I used DecoArt paints.
The outside of the wood was slick, so I applied Americana Multi Surface paint in Coffee color. I applied it with a one inch brush in an X, allowed to dry and did a 2nd coat.
Inside panel prior to repainting.
I had to paint 3 coats of Gesso on it prior to painting to cover the design up.
This was what it looked like when I started.
This is after 2 coats of Coffee Bean
DecoArt Premiums Paint colors used: Burnt Umber, Quinacridone Violet, Dioxazine Purple, Carbon Black, Prussian Blue, Sap Green, Titanium White.
I hope this inspires you to upcycle something in your home!!

DecoArt Butterfly stencil inspired Mask
I don't know if YOU know this about me, but I LOVE stencils. DecoArt has tons of them and the butterfly is my favorite!!
Right now the butterfly is 67% off!! That's only costing you $1.78!!
I used DecoArt Multi Surface Paint. Sky Blue, Coastal Waters, and Blue Mist. I applied it thru the stencil with a sponge dauber.

This is the Day Mixed Media
Creating Mixed Media projects is probably my most favorite thing to make!
Combining paper, stamps, paint, stencils, and dimensional elements really is neat!
I've used all of that on this project and even some Word Art by Karen Murray.
The crocheted flower in the bottom right corner was made by Melody Schwartz.
The pretty flowers are by Wild Orchid Flowers.
The paint and stencil is by DecoArt.
The paper line is by Paper house.

DecoArt Curb Appeal
I've seen plenty of makeovers on Pinterest, but this one really turned out well.
A relative donated an old chair to me-see below:
I cut out the old weaving, cleaned it good.
Took out my new 16 oz bottle of DecoArt's Curb Appeal paint in Estate Red.
Viola' -this is what I got!!
I'm not good at growing flowers, but fake one's look even better in DecoArt style!! LOL

Encouragement in Sad Times
We are in sad times. I have friends that can't visit their loved ones in the nursing homes. I have church members that are at home alone. We all need an encouraging word.
I've been making lots of "thinking of you" cards to send.
Today I'm showing a favorite stamp of mine from Stampin Up. A large butterfly. I stamped on watercolor paper and embossed with black. Then watercolored. I splattered with black (one of my favorite things to do!!)) and added a sentiment that is store bought. Super easy. Can crate multiples in no time.

I hope you're inspired to create!

Pioneer Woman inspired artwork with Decoart
Working from home!! Creates a new timeline for me to create!
I have a friend that's into Pioneer Woman design. She has a LARGE wall in her kitchen that needs some art! Ha!
I did a Social Art networking design and added some orange and turquoise for the main 16x20 canvas, but needed a design for the sides. I created two 11x14 side canvas that hopefully matches her original design. I tried to use the same bold colors.
Used a lot of DecoArt stencils: French Living, Tropical Leaf, Lace, Daisy Chain along with DecoArt Americana paints in turquoise, bright yellow, pink and orange.
My stencil brush is from Rebecca Baer. It's the best stencil brush and I use it all the time!!
Check out what I came up with:
I added some diecut flowers to add to the dimension and design.
Thank for checking out my design!!
Have a creative day!!
Hugs
Karen!!
