Relay For Life Layout

Let's Scrap Design Team's challenge was to do a layout using photos from something we normally don't scrap about.  So I chose our Relay pics from last year.

This is especially dear to my heart because I'm a cancer survivor.  I had osteosarcoma in my right bottom jaw.  Was in the hospital most of 2005 having chemo treatments & surgery.
I want to do my part to raise money for the American Cancer Society so they can support the families that are going thru it and to find a cure.

This 2 page layout features plain scrapbook techniques.  Markers, stencils, punches & a new technique featured at Let's Scrap-making a glitter frame.

I love the colors.  The multi colors represent the multiple kinds of cancer people have.

Awareness Ribbon Colors and Meanings

Trinity London compiled this list from multiple sources and checked with many of the foundations represented for accuracy. We realize it is difficult to find a comprehensive list of awareness ribbon meanings on the internet because most of the ribbons have multiple associated meanings so we invite anyone who has found this page useful to link to it from their own website. We welcome any opportunity to improve this page so if you see any errors or omissions, please contact us.

Stacked Pumpkins Class

Fall is in the air!  The painters were excited to paint this great 16x20 Social Art-networking Design!  The did a fabulous job!  They learned how to use their paintbrushes to create thin lines as well as thick ones.  Dry-brushing technique.  The #2 round brush is perfect for the vines surrounding the bottom of the pumpkins.

We had some first timers and some seasoned painters. Everyone had a great time!

Happy Birthday with Paper Artsy stamps/masking

I was inspired by the current challenge at Paper Artsy-masking.  I've created this card using a different kind of masking. I brayed paint onto my gelli plate and this pushed the Paper Artsy flower stamps into the paint. Then I pulled the print. Wow!! The stamp pulled the paint off creating a negative space. I hightlighted the stamps with watercolor pencils. Did some additional stamping with Paper Artsy vine, then stamped The Happy Birthday sentiment from Stampin Up.  Added 3 die cut flowers on top with dimensional s to finish the card. I LOVE how it turned out!! I hope this inspires you!!!

Christmas Canister-Recycled with Deco Art

I had a small coffee canister and immediately knew I had to alter it! Does that happen to you? I used some new products from Deco Arts. Their Metallic Wax Finish covered the slick surface of the canister. See the tutorial at the end of the post. Want to get in on a challenge with some prizes?? Check it out at Party Time Tuesdays!
**I tried several adhesives in order to glue down embellishments on this wax product. E6000 is the only one that I finally got to work.
