The Blue Door using DecoArt paint and pattern

DecoArt Social Art Networking - have fun painting a great picture when you've never even painted!  That's what we did last Friday.   Using one of the designs from Social Art Networking, I taught the techniques that they used to create a great painting anyone would be proud to have hanging on their wall!

We use all DecoArt Americana paints. They followed my lead and voila' this is what they created!! I'm so proud of each one!!

Here's my finished one.  It's called The Blue Door.

If you are interested in hosting a class-let me know! I will be glad to come to your house and we'll have some fun creating!

Unity new Tuesday link up Hop

More fun with DecoArt acrylic paint, gelli plate and Unity Stamps!
Below is my background-I love making my own designer paper!
I used Americana buttermilk and a blue to create this awesome background.
I used a Unity stamp butterfly and stamped in random areas using brown archival ink on the background.  Then stamped one on white cardstock with black archival ink. Colored it in with various acrylic paint. Fussy cut and added to my card.  The sentiment is also a Unity stamp.
I usually attach my to my card base using glue since the paper ends up thicker and I'm scared regular snail tape won't hold good.

I'll be linking up to Unity Stamp Company Tuesday Hop.  It's taking the place of Friends with Flair on Friday's.  Don't miss out!

DecoArt card with Unity Stamps

Hey! Check out the challenge this month at Unity Stamps. I love the color combination!!
You can choose from the color combo, the card sketch or the scrapbook sketch.

As you know I adore my gelli plate...Using the pages I make is fun.
I combined this Authentic Man Unity stamp set to come up with a winning combination!
I used DecoArts paints. Burnt Orange, deep burgundy, buttermilk. The stars were stamped with Rusty Hinge distress ink and fussy cut.  I added Crackle accents to the car-can you see it in the close up?

That's it for me today! have a blessed one!

Freddy Kueger Birthday Card

When someone wants a birthday card, I try to find out what the person is interested in. Hobbies, etc. When the husband likes horror movies and rock and roll-I was totally out of my comfort zone!!

My husband came up with the idea of Freddy Kueger playing an electric guitar. So I searched the web for a picture that would work and used my Photoshop to combine the guitar and Freddy. I used puppet warp to move his arm across the guitar.  So cool!
I added glossy accents to his pants and eyes! Up close is pretty scary!! I matted him on a piece of black cardstock I ran thru my Big Shot and then put glitter glue on.

I think it turned out pretty cool.  She was really pleased with it!!

Oh My Happy with Mojo Monday

I just adore DecoArt products! Making my own designer paper is so much fun!
The Americana acrylic paints work so well with a gelli plate. I've used some stencils purchased at Walmart for the background.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday #411.
 Supplies Used:
Close to my Heart "Happy Everything" sentiment stamp
DecoArt Americana Paints:  Gingerbread, Shale Green, Natural Buff
Stampin up flower stamp

Life is about to happen

Love combining my Photoshop skills with my Crafting skills!

I cut the Congrats out with Cricut machine.  I used the the left over piece and sprayed DecoArt Mister in orange on the envelope.

You can't tell from this photo, but Glossy Accents was put on Hokies and Congrats to make the words dimensional.
The inside sentiments was made using Creative Memories stamps.

Mixed Media layers with DecoArt and Stampin Up

Lots of layers. Lots of love.

I started with sheets of Baptist hymnal. I used DecoArt matte medium to glue them down.  Then I applied a thin layer of gesso. Using the black archival ink, I stamped several Stampin Up butterflies on tissue paper, cut them out and glued them down with matte medium.

Using my fingers, I rubbed acrylic paint in overlapping layers. Green, yellow, pink, magenta from DecoArt Americana.  I colored in the butterflies with various markers.
I used some light texture paste and did some layering with some stencils.

I typed up Psalm 28:7, printed and glued onto the canvas with matte medium. I outlined each one with a black and lilac watercolor pencil.

After painting my white flower at the bottom left corner, I used various gelatos in several places.
I got some more stencils out and pushed some DecoArt Metallic wax thru in blue and violet.  It gives a beautiful shine!
Once complete, I punched a couple of holes in the top and ran some sheer organza ribbon to hang the canvas.
here's a close up showing some of the layering.  It's beautiful in person!!
